Nicola Peltz's father has spoken out amid her husband, Brooklyn Beckham's ongoing feud with the Beckham family.
Rumors of tensions between the couple and Brooklyn's parents, David and Victoria Beckham, have gained traction in recent months.
Speculation about a rift between them started as early as the couple's wedding in April 2022, and peaked this month when Brooklyn shared a bombshell statement calling out his family and saying that he did not want to reconcile with them.
He wrote: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.
"Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
"I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
"For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family."
He claimed that his parents would "place countless lies in the media" to protect their own image "mostly at the expense of innocent people".
Brooklyn also alleged that his mother, Victoria Beckham, had pulled out of designing Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute, and even claimed she "hijacked" their first dance and "danced very inappropriately on [him]", causing Nicola to run out in tears.
He added: "My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one."
Brooklyn added: "The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety.
"For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.
"My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."
Now, Brooklyn's billionaire father-in-law, Nelson Peltz, has spoken out on the rift with the Beckhams.
The 83-year-old businessman and investor was interviewed at a Q&A event where he told WSJ Invest Live in West Palm Beach, it was a "whole other story" and wasn't "for coverage here today" at the event.
He joked: "Has my family been in the press lately? I haven't noticed that at all."
When asked if he gave them any advice to navigate the ongoing drama, he responded: "I do. Sometimes they give me advice.
"My advice is to stay the hell out of the press. How much good did that do?"
He added: "My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story. That's not for coverage here today, but I’ll tell you my daughter is great, my son-in-law Brooklyn is great and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together."
