The woman who believes she may be <a href="https://vt.co/news/world/woman-claiming-to-be-madeleine-mccann-says-her-mom-made-bombshell-phone-call-to-doctor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Madeleine McCann</a> has been taken to the US after receiving death threats online. Last month, Julia Wendell, a 21-year-old from Poland, racked up quite the following on Instagram as she <a href="https://vt.co/news/uk/girl-calls-for-dna-test-as-she-claims-she-could-be-madeleine-mccann" target="_blank" rel="noopener">repeatedly claimed</a> she could legitimately be the missing British girl. Madeleine disappeared from a vacation apartment in Portugal in 2007 while her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, were at a nearby restaurant. They made sure to regularly check on their children, who were sleeping at the time. She also contended that she doesn't remember parts of her childhood but added that she was abused by a <a href="https://vt.co/news/uk/prime-suspect-in-madeleine-mccann-case-is-charged-with-sexual-offences-by-german-prosecutors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">German man</a> who bears a resemblance to the prime suspect in the Maddie case, Christian Brueckner. Due to her claims, she recently <a href="https://vt.co/news/world/julia-wandelt-takes-dna-test-to-see-if-she-is-missing-swiss-girl-instead-of-madeleine-mccann" target="_blank" rel="noopener">underwent a DNA test</a> to rule out whether she is another missing girl. Online sleuths have suggested that Julia might instead be Livia Schepp, a Swiss girl who vanished at the age of six in 2011 along with her twin Alessia. However, as the young woman continued to be bombarded with threatening messages - including an alleged one about a bounty on her head - the doctors believed that she was no longer safe in her country and needed to fly to the States. Johansson alleged that she found proof supporting the women's claim that she was abused as a child, and that her mother - who recently made <a href="https://vt.co/news/world/woman-claiming-to-be-madeleine-mccann-says-her-mom-made-bombshell-phone-call-to-doctor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a bombshell phone call to a doctor to get Julia hospitalized</a> - blocked her number. "We can't get a court order to force them to because there is a law against it in Poland," the doctor explained. "We went to the police in Poland to report her concerns she may be Madeleine McCann but they said they do not have any investigations about any missing persons outside the country." "The country where Maddie is missing from - Portugal - would have to force Poland to look at it.
